RoosterTree ComicLit: CCCCP: Creative Community Collected Comics Pages
COVER ART 2008.09.25

NEWS 2008.09.02 (! UPDATED 2008.10.09)
October 6th has come & gone & submissions have closed; details are going out to our co-conspirators, the fabulousness of whom cannot be understated.
THE THEORY
In this blog post in my LJ I announced how I wanted to put together & publish a collection of sequential art works by my creative LJ friends, whether they had worked in the comics medium before or not. My love of sequential art includes such a broad definition that almost anyone in any visual or literary discipline could contribute.
My efforts, as an editor/proofreader/whatever the title is, continue to be volunteer outside my own contributions as a creator - all profit sharing will be equally split among the creators. My most recent consideration for a POD release is through comiXpress, but I'm open to any venue that serves more than just a local region; already I've received submissions from & collabs with people in Canada, the U.S. & Britain. The book will boast a colour cover with B+W/greyscale interiors, a humble, but proud beginning.
This collection of short comics is as varied in subject matter & eclectic in visual style as the people who chose to be involved. I left the subject matter completely open with a loose 5 page maximum. This collection is for mature audiences.
My preferred cover designer deferred, so my next task for this project is creating the cover art, followed in no particular order by book layout, consideration of venues for promotion & advertising, a game plan to put review copies in the hands of the media, distribution of publishing agreements to all contributors & asking those contributors for their bylines & personal ads.
